Cradleboards
We began making the old 19th Century style Haudenosaunee boards at the request of a local museum. After looking at dozens of old boards and photographing the details we began to recreate the old-style boards. We use maple for our backs and footguards and hickory for the head bar. We have made many boards for families who want to instill Native values in their children. To date, all three of our children were raised in cradleboards. We also make small model-size boards for dolls or display. We provide instruction for their use and recommendations on the trimmings.
