Great Lakes Style Baggatoway (LaCrosse) Sticks
We make
both the Haudenosaunee style “crooked” stick from the early 19th C.
and the Western Great Lakes style stick. Depicted are the “Baggatoway” sticks
that the Anishnabe and Menominee people use. We use tough shagbark hickory for
all sticks. They last forever and are guaranteed that the shaft won’t be broken
in a game. We harvest hickory trees in the dead of winter so by spring the
sticks are done.
